Meet Sam
I believe every artist is unique and deserves special care and consideration. My job is not to just take over the project, or make it my own. My goal is always to enhance the art that is in front of me, and elevate to it’s highest potential. I also take my role as an educator very seriously. I want everyone I work with to come away from each session with a new piece of knowledge they can use to improve their sound on their own in the future. I want to help people find their sound.
I have been a DFW resident since birth basically. I grew up in Arlington, I went to college for Film at UNT in Denton, and now I live in Irving near Dallas. I have been surrounded with this music scene for decades and I have a lot of appreciation for it. I remember playing some of my first gigs at The Door in Deep Ellum back in 2012 or so, and I’ve been continuously been working with bands in the area since then.
When I say working with bands, I mean a few different things. Just to sum up a couple, I’ve taught a bunch of drumlines around the area since 2015. I started recording my own music, playing and recording everything myself in 2015 as well, eventually beginning to record other bands’ music in early 2019. I also took a big step in 2019 away from teaching drumline, and into doing live audio for marching band and drumline. As the next few years went by, I found myself, more and more, loving recording audio and running live audio systems.
Now, that is my passion and goal, and as the list of people I have worked with grows longer, I am noticing just how much of an impact it makes on people when they feel that they are being given the care and attention they know their art deserves. That is the care I aim to give. I know how talented the musicians that live in this area are; in fact, I consider many of my friends to be the most talented musicians and artists I’ve ever met. And they deserve that much, so here I am. Let’s find that sound!
